Unlike the rustic, simple vibes of other towns in the region, Martina Franca is fancy. But like, effortlessly fancy. The town developed its own unique architectural style called Barocco Martinese (Martinese Baroque). Think creamy limestone buildings, intricately carved stone cherubs over doorways, and dramatic, curvy wrought-iron balconies holding up boxes of vibrant pink geraniums.
From here, you’ll spot the towering Basilica di San Martino. The Basilica features a jaw-dropping, 37-meter-tall sandy-colored façade that glows a warm pinkish-gold when the evening sun hits it.
