Venice is known for its attractions, but Venice Italy events are definitely some of the most well-known in the world and are equally noted for being international gatherings for artists in all walks of life. The Venice Biennale hosts numerous events during the year. One major event hosted by the Biennale is the 6 month long Venice Art Biennale. It draws talented artists from all over the world to show their paintings and sculptures. In addition, the Venice Carnival brings in people from all over the world to begin the Lenten Season. Carnival is a lively time with festivities throughout Venice.

Venice Carnival 
Make a dream come true and visit Venice during the Venice Carnival. This world famous carnival runs from January 27th to February 13th, 2018. Amazing events happen during this 17 day event. The first two days kick off with a water parade and the Rio di Cannaregio canal becomes a water stage! Moreover, see the traditional “Flight of the Angel”. An Angel flies along a rope from the San Marco bell tower to the middle of Piazza San Marco. Dress up in masquerade! Attend a Venetian Ball, since there are many exclusive dinners and balls to attend. There are contests, ceremonies and amazing street shows. THE HISTORICAL REGATTA
The Regata Storica (Historical Regatta), is an exciting gondola race that place every September. Gondoliers dress up in period costumes and race along the Grand Canal. It is a very lively, fun event to behold if your lucky enough to be in Venice during the fall. There is music, food and other happenings while you root for your favorite team of gondoliers. In order to view the races from the water, you can purchase your tickets for a comfortable floating stall at Regata Storica di Venezia. This fabulous fun cultural event – enjoy it!
Venice Film Festival 2018
First of all, the Venice Film Festival is one of the hottest events in the world! If you want to be in spectacular surroundings and get starstruck seeing celebrities and VIP’s arrive by gondola, you must attend! Venice becomes the international crown of cinema. This is a 10 day celebration of art and entertainment. It culminates with the prestigious Leone d’Oro (Golden Lion) award. The best film is presented with the Golden Lion award. The dates of the upcoming 75th Venice Film Festival is August 29th through September 8th 2018. Organized by La Biennale di Venezia, this is the oldest and most prestigious film festival in the world. It takes place at the Palazzo del Cinema on the Venetian Island of Lido. It is only a two minute walk from one of my favorite hotels featured above, the Hotel Excelsior.
Venice Biennale
The Venice Biennale is a world renowned cultural institution. It promotes and embraces the arts in a multitude of categories; art, cinema, music, dance, theatre and architecture.
The Biennale generates numerous events, the most famous of which is the exciting Venice International Film Festival. Equally important is and just as popular is the Venice Art Biennale. This event showcases the works of over 100 international artists for a six month period. In addition, the Music festival features different concerts and venues as does the dance festival.
